WHAT ABOUT THE FUTURE ?

As you probably know, people use much more electricity than they did a few years ago, and it is likely that the demand for power will increase in the years to come. To meet the future demand for electricity, new power stations are being built, and existing stations are being extended and modernised in many parts of the country. Part of the “SUPERGRID” which has overhead power lines carrying 275,000 Volts, will pass through the Midlands Division. In addition to this, several atomic power stations will be built in the next few years. Trained men will be needed to operate, maintain and control the new power stations -- it is the aim of the Training Schemes to train and provide them.
