The station is connected into the existing High Marnham - Keadby - Monk Fryston line, which is being up-rated to 400kV, and another connection will be made from West Burton into the North London area. The station will also be tied into the local 132kV network and interbus transformers will be provided between the 400kV and 132kV systems. There are four 500,000 kilowatt generating units, each consisting of a boiler, steam turbine and electrical generator.
In addition to the main generating plant, the station will have four gas turbo-alternators,
with a total output of 70,000 kilowatts.
