7. ABSENCE FROM DUTY
DAY WORKERS - If for any reason you are
unable to report for work, you must inform the Head
of the Department as soon as possible but in any event
not later than 31 hours after normal starting time.
In cases of sickness extending beyond the third day
of absence, a First Medical Certificate must be sent to I
the Station Superintendent not later than the fourth day.
If the absence is extended, an Intermediate Medical
Certificate must be sent at weekly intervals, and a Final
Certificate before starting work. After perusal at the
Station the Wages Clerk will forward the Certificates to
the appropriate Office of the Ministry of Pensions and
National Insurance.
Those employees who have been admitted to the
Central Electricity Generating Board's N.J.I.C. Sick Pay
Scheme must also forward the National Health Form
B.S.l2, received with the first National Insurance Payment,
to the Station Superintendent as soon as possible,
so that the sick pay due may be calculated.
SHIFT WORKERS - In addition to the above, a
shift worker who is unable to report for duty must
immediately inform the Charge Engineer or Maintenance
Engineer of the reason for, and probable duration of,
the absence.
8. RETURN TO DUTY
DAY WORKERS - When ready to return to work
and a Final Medical Certificate has been obtained a day
worker will take up his normal day hours and report to
the Head of his Department.
SHIFT WORKERS - When ready to return to
work and a Final Medical Certificate has been obtained
a shift worker will get in touch with the Charge Engineer
or Maintenance Engineer and obtain details of which
shift he is to take up. Prior notice must be given to the
Engineer concerned so that shifts may be re-arranged.
9. ACCIDENT PROCEDURE
If you injure yourself, however slightly, during the
course of your duties at this Station you should report
it to the Supervisory Engineer who will make out a
Station Accident Report.
If you witness an accident and the injured person
requires assistance, other than you can provide yourself,
